PCPPI to focus on sustaining growth momentum across all segments

April 25, 2022
Pepsi-Cola Products Philippines, Inc. (PCPPI)—the exclusive manufacturer of PepsiCo beverages in the country—is focused on sustaining its growth momentum this year, as it reports a strong start for its soft drinks and non-carbonated brands versus the previous year.
“As the government continues to ease pandemic restrictions, we are seeing a recovery in consumer spending. Social and economic activities are slowly restarting normal operations. This has helped boost our sales in the first quarter of 2022,” said PCPPI President and Chief Executive Officer Frederick D. Ong.
The company continues to introduce new products that address the lifestyle needs of active individuals. In January, it launched the Gatorade No Sugar, highlighted by a new TV commercial featuring Gatorade endorser, Kathryn Bernardo. It is the healthier option to its well-loved brand, Gatorade. “It is the same sports drink that helps with the hydration process, minus the sugar and with minimal calories,” Ong added.
As outdoor activities resume under Alert Level 1, demand for energy drinks also rose. PCPPI noted that consumption of its energy drink, Sting, continue to enjoy an uptick. “It remains one of our more in-demand products to date,” he said. Sting is also enjoying visibility across social media platforms, with new brand endorsers Alden Richards and Andrea Brillantes.
To hit more targets this year, PCPPI implemented various brand initiatives to meet the growing consumer demand and helped strengthen the business of its partner distributors.
The company is optimistic that it will sustain this growth momentum throughout the year. According to Ong, one way to help maintain economic recovery is to ensure that its workforce is fully vaccinated and boosted. Currently, the company declared that it is nearing its employee booster shot target of at least 90%.
“Every year, we are dedicated to drive sustainable and profitable growth. We do this by providing a wide range of quality beverages to our consumers. These are all in line with our vision to be the leading beverage company in the Philippines,” he added.
PCPPI is the exclusive manufacturer of well-known beverage brands in the Philippines including Pepsi-Cola, Mountain Dew, 7-Up, Mirinda, Gatorade, Sting, Tropicana, Lipton, Mug, Premier, Milkis, and Aquafina.
