PCPPI Pampanga Plant wins Healthiest Workplace Award

January 27, 2022
Pepsi-Cola Products Philippines Inc. (PCPPI) San Fernando plant was recently recognized as a “Healthy Workplace” by the City Health Office of San Fernando, Pampanga. This is as PCPPI, the exclusive manufacturer of PepsiCo beverages in the country, ensures that health and safety standards are strictly observed across all levels of the organization.

The Healthiest Workplace Award is aligned with the City of San Fernando’s Agenda #4: “Malusog na Fernandino, Masiglang Pamumuhay ay Sigurado,” which is anchored on the safety and welfare of its constituents from health risks. The City Health Office Environmental Health and Sanitation Division have been recognizing the City’s “Healthy Places” for the past ten (10) years.

According to the City Health Office, “most people only come to health centers and hospitals when they are ill. Much of their illness could be prevented if the places where people live, go to school, work, and eat become healthy and safe. The devoted system of responsibility has opened up opportunities for multi-sectoral cooperation. It helps develop health promotion strategy and action in partnership with non-government organizations and to others concerned in this initiative.”

The PCPPI San Fernando plant won first-place on the Healthiest Workplace Award under the “Large Category”. The winners were evaluated based on several indicators including Occupational, Health, Sanitation & Safety Program, Health & Safety Committee, Engineering Control, Environment Protection, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

The PCPPI San Fernando Plant is a Hall of Famer in the Healthiest Workplace Award. The plant won first place for three consecutive years from 2016 to 2018.

“PCCPI commits to providing our people a safe and healthy workplace. This is among our top priorities even prior to the pandemic. By maintaining strict health and safety standards in all our plants and offices, we are able to boost our employees’ morale and further encourage productivity at work,” said PCPPI president and chief executive officer Frederick D. Ong.

The PCPPI San Fernando plant also received the Safety Seal from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) in 2021. The plant was recognized for its strict compliance with COVID protocols and health standards. These include wearing of face masks and shields, setting up handwashing stations and screening or triage areas, observing social distancing, and using a contract-tracing application, among others.

PPCPI is the exclusive bottler of PepsiCo beverages in the country. The group manufactures and sells well-known brands such as Pepsi-Cola, Mountain Dew, 7-Up, Mirinda, Mug, Gatorade, Tropicana, Lipton, and Premier.
