PCPPI collects over 7,000 kilograms of waste in International Coastal Cleanup 2025

Reinforcing its commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainability, Pepsi-Cola Products Philippines, Inc. (PCPPI) collected more than 7,000 kilograms of waste from various coastal areas nationwide during the International Coastal Cleanup (ICC) 2025.

In support of this initiative, PCPPI mobilized employee volunteers from several of its business units to help clean the following coastal areas: Sitio Agwawan, Brgy. Sisiman, Mariveles, Bataan; Brgy. Sto. Nino, Tanauan, Leyte; Calajunan Creek, Brgy. San Jose, San Miguel, Iloilo; Brgy. Tungkil Mangrove Area, Cebu; and Zone 3, Baybay, Brgy. Agusan, Cagayan de Oro City.

Working hand in hand with local communities and partners, the volunteers cleared these shorelines and waterways of plastics, discarded nets, food wrappers, and other debris. PCPPI also provided additional support by donating cleaning materials such as empty sugar bags and by providing beverages to volunteers.

“Protecting our seas and waterways is more than a corporate responsibility—it’s an investment in our shared future,” said Atty. Carina Lenore S. Bayon, PCPPI’s Chief Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) Officer.

“Through the International Coastal Cleanup, we actively contribute to safeguarding marine ecosystems and building climate resilience in line with the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), particularly SDGs 13 and 14. We are proud to stand alongside communities and partners in creating a cleaner, healthier environment,” she added.

The ICC is the world’s largest volunteer movement for ocean health, supported locally by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR). Every September, millions of volunteers around the world come together to remove trash from beaches, rivers, and waterways while raising awareness on marine pollution and its impact on climate change.
